Sanjay Leela Bhansali angry over Ranveer’s clean-shaved

Don’t be clean shaved in front of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He likes his beard and wants others to keep it too. Actor Ranveer Kapoor who is working with him on his movie Ram Leela had a taste for that as well.

Apparently it was for a reason. Ranveer plays the role of Gujrati Romeo in the movie, where it was necessary to have an unkempt look. Ranveer however turned up on the sets as clean shaved. A source said, “There was a full blown fight on the sets. Bhansali really believes in Ranveer's talent and he was rather upset to see him clean-shaven. They had been working really hard for the past few months to get the character right.”

It is being said that Ranveer had gone for a look test for Ali Abbas Zafar's Gunday, which is been produced by Yash Raj Films. He was however not prepared for the impending onslaught. A source close to the film revealed, “Ranveer did not really imagine that this could be such a big issue. He went for the look test and thought he could just use prosthetics for Ram Leela. Using fake beards isn't new. And it would have been fine in a few days.”

However everything was fine afterwards. The makeup artist was up to the task and ensured that the shot was done perfectly. In fact the song sequence that followed went off really well.
Sanjay, who is known to follow his mood, had earlier shown the door to Kareena Kapoor as well. When he was casting for Ram Leela, he ruled out Kareena as she was due to get married. Sanjay didn’t want her female lead to be married. It’s also possible that Karenna left because, he was juggling between various actresses for the role.

When Ranveer was asked if he missed out working with Kareena, he had said, “I was disappointed since I was really looking forward to working with her. When I would discuss our chemistry, Mr. Bhansali would say that he cast us because we are high-energy, open-hearted performers. Sadly, it didn't work out.”

However he is happy with his current co-star, Deepika Padukone. About her he said, “She definitely looks the part better than anyone else. When Bhansali sir and I started working on the film a few months ago, we browsed through lots of books on rural Gujarat. He would often point to pictures of traditional Gujarati girls and say, ‘This is what Leela looks like’. They are slender, dusky and have sharp features.”
